So life in the CCM has
been pretty crazy this week.
The biggest news was one
of the Hermanas in my district, Hermana Valenta, broke her elbow a couple of
days ago during volleyball. It was a pretty freak accident. Elder Child and I
got the opportunity to give her a priesthood blessing. Elder child did the
anointing, and I did the sealing. At the time, we had no idea what the severity
of the injury was becuase in order to X-ray, they had to leave the CCM. In the
blessing I gave her, I told her that she would be okay, and that her wrist was
not broken. It was a day for miracles. She came back with the news that her
wrist was fine, just sprained. She had a very small hairline fracture in her
elbow that would heal over the span of 4 weeks. No surgery required. No issues.
It won't affect her mission at all. This was a very humbling experience for me.
I'm so happy that I'm serving the Lord.
Instead of sharing funny
stories, I thought I would send some photos and introduce you guys to my
district and our friends, district 14 B.
This is a photo of me with
my two comps, Elder Chischillie on the left, and Elder Child on the right (this
was before my haircut).
This is a photo of the
Mexico City temple from one of our trips. It is a huge temple, and it is
extremely beautiful.
This is a photo of my
district eating lunch. (from left to right) Elder Wegner, Elder Frost, Elder
Stone, Hermana Valenta, Hermana Coffeen, Me, Hermana Cluff, Hermana Freebairn,
Elder Child, and Elder Herron (Elder Chischillie took the photo).
All the Missionaries in my
district (14A) had to go into downtown to sort out our Visas. Elder
Chischillie, Elder child, and I are serving in Mexico city chaclo. Elder Wegner
is serving in Mexico City North. Elder Frost is serving in Mexico city Aguascalientes.
Every night, the Elders in
my house (District 14A and B) sing hymns together and then say a prayer. We
close the night very spiritually. I love our two districts. We are all so
incredibly close, and we are very good friends. (from left to right) Elder
Whitaker, Elder Leavitt, Elder Fix, Elder Marispini, Elder Belnap, Elder
Wegner, Elder Kerr, Me, Elder Whitby, Elder Stone, Elder Chischillie, Elder
Hobbs, Elder Herron, Elder Child, Elder Weech, And the legs and hands of Elder
Frost. Elder Baker took the photo.
This is a photo of my
room. typically its not this messy. Its nice having only three people per room.
we switch around where we sleep all the time, and we have tons of room.
This is a photo of our
casa, casa 27. It is so much fun. Generally the crime scene of our shenanigans.
Here's a photo of me and
some of my friends (note the short hair).
Heres a photo of our two
districts about to play gator ball #SquadGoals
And last but not least,
this is a typical morning for me. Wake up before the sunrises and get to work.
The sunsets and sunrises here in Mexico City are very beautiful (probably
partially due to the air pollution).
I’m so happy to be here on
the Lord's work. I love learning Spanish. I will send more photos next email!
Love,
Elder Long
